Frequently asked questions
How does the repair process work
- Go to our Mail-in repairs page and complete your details on our booking form or make an appointment and bring it to us.
- Send us your device by recorded or special delivery, securely packaged.
- Your device will be repaired and posted back to you; 24hrs min – 72hrs max.
a) If the parts are out of stock, we will contact you and let you know an estimated repair date.
b) If you wish to have your device returned without repair, there is a return fee.

What is included in the price of repair
The price for repair includes the parts, labor and 90-day warranty.
Do you offer a walk-in repair service
Yes we do, but only by appointment – If you live locally or are on holiday in Cornwall, feel free to drop off your device during business hours for a diagnosis and an estimate for repair. We do not perform repairs while you wait, however, we will call you with a diagnosis within 24 hours of receipt and give you a complete quote for repair.
How long does it take to repair an iPhone, if I bring it to you?
All iPhone repairs take One-hour if you use our walk-in service.
What are your opening hours
We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am – 5.30 pm.
What is your Repair time
iPhone repairs and iPads next day, Apple Mac’s 2 days.
Which Apple devices do you repair
iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air.

Which methods of payment do you accept
We only take payment after we have completed your repair, and are able to take payment by Cash, Credit/Debit Card, Bank Transfer or Apple Pay.
How will this affect my Apple warranty
Any repairs conducted by any third party other than Apple, to include ourselves, will void the Apple warranty.
After you repair an Apple device, what do you do with the damaged parts?
We dispose of damaged iPod parts according to all current environmental regulations.
What if I decline to have my device repaired
1. We will ship the unit back to you for a return fee, (see return fees above).
2. You can choose to abandon your device and we will dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
Do you have a minimum charge
Yes, our minimum charge for workshop repairs is £40.00.

Postage
Macsolutions is not responsible for lost, damaged or stolen packages. All repairs are returned to the address provided and are posted by Royal Mail Next Day Special Delivery. When sending your device to us, please ensure that the item is correctly packaged to avoid any damage in transit. Always use an insured recorded service or courier when posting your device.
Returns
Macsolutions guarantees all parts and labor for up to 90 days unless otherwise noted. We strive to ensure that every customer is completely satisfied with our work. If you experience any issues upon receiving your repaired device, you may return the device to us and have any issues regarding the functionality of your device assessed. If any part which we replaced is defective within the 90 days, then we will replace the defective part for free and will be responsible for the return postage.
Abandonment of device
Macsolutions cannot store customer owned devices for extended periods of time. By sending an item to Macsolutions for diagnosis/repair, the customer agrees to make a diligent effort to communicate with Macsolutions in good faith when your service order is concluded. We will make every reasonable attempt to contact the customer via e-mail and phone within the 30 day period. If we have no confirmed contact (via email or phone) for 30 days, we will consider your repair abandoned and will proceed with the disposal/breakdown of the device in an environmentally friendly manner.
Backup Disclaimer
If your device is capable of storing software programs, applications, songs, video or picture files, it is important to protect its contents against loss or possible operational failures during repair work. Before delivering the device for diagnosis or service it is your responsibility to keep a separate backup copy of the contents, remove all personal information and data that you want to protect and disable any security passwords or include any passwords with your device.
90 Day Warranty on all parts and repairs
Repairs of any device conducted by Macsolutions are covered under our 90 Day Parts & Labor Warranty unless otherwise noted. If you have any issue with a repair within the first 90 days please contact us and we guarantee that we will correct the problem in a timely manner. This warranty is limited to the parts in the device that Macsolutions has repaired or replaced.
Reckless use or abuse of your device will terminate this warranty. Reckless use consists of exposure to extreme cold or heat, water damage, over charging through use of a docking station, impact damage, or any other situation above and beyond normal wear and tear.
Through inspection, the technicians can determine whether the device has experienced damage outside of the repairs made by macsolutions.co.uk. Any such damage will void the 90 Day warranty. Additionally, the 90 Day warranty will be considered void if the technicians detect tampering to the device.
Consumers Privacy
Macsolutions is dedicated to protecting the privacy of our consumers. In order to supply a safe and secure experience we will make every attempt to guarantee that your information remains confidential and is used only for the purposes described below. The Macsolutions service/repair form requires clients to provide contact information (such as name, home/work address, telephone numbers and email address). We use this information to make contact with our clients and process repair orders and payments when necessary. Macsolutions does not sell or give out any personal information to third parties.

Warranty
Warranty Coverage
All local and Mail-In repair services are backed by a comprehensive, 3 month warranty for the serviced device.
Scope of Warranty Coverage
- All parts and labour in any repairs by Macsolutions are covered by our 3 months warranty.
- Warranty is limited to the parts and/or service(s) that were paid for. Warranty is limited to the replacement of the parts. If parts and repair service were purchased, warranty extends to cover the labor cost of part replacement and any other repairs specifically resulting from the initial repair, except in the situations outlined below.
Warranty Does Not Protect
After Macsolutions repairs the device, the warranty does not protect against:
- Subsequent mishandling that causes the frame to bend, twist, or crack
- Water damage
- Subsequent accidental or purposeful drops
- Tampering with internal hardware
- Damage resulting from attempted customer repairs
- Software issues unrelated to the repair
- New damages unrelated to the original repair
- Any loss of data occurring as a result of the repair – customers are advised to back up all data prior to a repair attempt.
